![]() I'm not trying to "put down" the cute little SP101 in. 22 revolver and I have owned dozens of the various makes and models over the years, including all of the above and a ton more. I would MUCH RATHER have a S&W model 17 or model 18 revolver or even an H&R 999 Sportsman as an outdoorsmans. 22 revolvers to be had for plinking, hunting, etc IMHO. 357 mag version, which I personally own in 2 1/4 inch length, but there are MANY other finer quality. It works fine and is a good "trail companion" for sure, or for a backcountry "survival" type weapon or good practice for its bigger brother, the. She like the way it "felt" in her hands, so we got it. It is as solid as a rock, but pretty heavy and has no adjustment for elevation, and pretty crude for windage. My wife bought a SP101 4" full lug barrel, brand new "at cost" for $249 back in about 1996 or so. I'm not sure what all the "hype" is about this model, to be perfectly honest. ![]()
